A 2 ingredient quick Soda Bread
I saw this recipe this morning on Bridget and Baking and as it was a cold morning here. I needed a cardigan, .no sun although it is now out and the temperature is climbing ツ
Ingredients:
500 gm of soda bread flour. (I used plain flour and 1/2 tsp of baking soda.)
280-300 ml of buttermilk.
That’s it 2 ingredients.
I also added a handful of sultanas.
Method:
Make a well in the center of the flour and add your milk gradually stirring it in with a wooden spoon.
Shape the dough into a round and cut into 4 triangles (farls)
Heat your griddle pan over medium heat.
To test if it is ready, add a sprinkling of flour into the pan. If the flour browns immediately then the pan is too hot and needs turning down.
Cook the farls on one side until they are nicely browned about 5 mins and turn over and brown the other side.
They should sound hollow when tapped if they are cooked.
I wasn’t sure so I cooked the sides just for a minute.
They were eaten hot with butter and Aston had a sliced apple with his second one.
He really liked them.
