If u have a sweet tooth…this is for u😉
Kindly excuse my first attempt at icing cookies 🙈 but the taste is out of this world💗

Ingredients
250g butter / good quality margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp almond essence
+- 2 & 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Method:
Beat the first 4 ingredients together until creamy.
Add next 3 ingredients being sure to add flour a little at a time until a soft workable dough is formed. Roll dough out and cut shapes or roll into logs and cut into rounds. You can refrigerate dough for a while before rolling to firm it up. Place on a prepared baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for +-10 mins until lightly browned. Top or join biscuits with royal cream icing…recipe below.

Royal Cream Icing

Mix 2 cups sifted icing sugar with a few tablespoons water and 1/2 tsp almond essence (can go up to 1 tsp if you prefer) to get a thick consistency.
Colour icing with ur choice of colours. Decorate biscuits as desired. Enjoy😘💗

About cookandenjoyrecipes

I have a passion to cook and experiment, and have gathered recipes for almost 50+ years (paper and then electronic). I felt it an absolute waste to just toss all those wonderful recipes in the garbage and forget about them, thus decided to put them to good use and started “The Recipe Hunter” Facebook page: The Recipe Hunter (Cook &Enjoy) and the Blog
