Nazley’s Butter Chicken


500 grams chicken
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
2 tbsp yoghurt
1 tsp red chilli powder
salt to taste
juice of 1/2 medium sized lemon

1 medium onion
3 medium tomatoes
12 to 15 cashews
2 cloves
1/2 inch cinnamon
2 cardomons

Other Ingredients
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 cup tomato ketchup
1/2 cup fresh cream or milk cream
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
salt to taste

Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste ,red chilli powder ,salt, yoghurt and lemon juice for 1 hour the most.
Then shallow fry the pieces on medium flame till fried properly from all sides.
Then increase the heat and cook on high heat for a minute or 2 till dark spots appear on chicken and remove from heat.
Boil roughly chopped onion roughly chopped tomatoes, cashews, cloves, cinnamon, cardomons together with a cup of water till tomatoes are soft
Cool completely and grind it to a very fine paste.
Heat butter in a pan add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala powder together, saute few seconds on low heat make sure not to burn the spices.
Then add gravy boil well. Simmer for 5 to 8 minutes.
Then add the tomato ketchup, fresh cream and fried chicken pieces together.
Boil and simmer till chicken is almost done.
Top with dhania. Enjoy.
